CRS 619 Organizational Creativity and Innovation
Interest in managing and promoting creativity in organizations has grown exponentially in recent years. The purpose of this course is to explore applications and research that provide insight into ways in which creativity can be nurtured and enhanced in organizations. Additionally, some economists have suggested that we now live in the age of innovation. As such, many corporations have become very concerned about ways to develop more innovative organizational cultures. This course will explore the important connection between creativity, innovation, and change, specifically examining how creativity can be used to enhance innovation in organizations, and how it is a core competency needed for any change leader. Given the fundamental role change plays in organizational life, students will explore the dynamics of change both in theory and in a real organizational setting, exploring how to ensure organizations are change ready.
